Denver Demonstrations to Free Julian Assange: Friday

Activists in support of the WikiLeak’s founder take to the streets this weekend, following a British court’s ruling last week granting the United States full appeal of a decision earlier this year not to extradite Assange to the US.

Denver, Colorado – Denver Action 2 Free Assange will host two events this weekend: a caravan which will visit various Denver media outlets, starting at 7News on Lincoln and Speer at 10am on Friday, and a Rally at the Greek Theater in Civic Center park from noon to 2pm on Saturday.

The media caravan will visit news outlets urging journalists to speak up for their colleague Assange and to cover Assange’s case. The Public Forum- Say Anything rally is a tribute to whistelblowers Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning, and publisher Julian Assange. Denver will host speakers from independent media and free press activists from across the front range and as far away as Ohio and California plan to attend.
